Car died when driving. I was close to running out of gas, so I put more gas in and still will not start. I have ran out of gas several times. I have changed the fuel pump, but it seems to be ok.

you can try just resetting the fuel pump switch located in the car
the switch is originally in the car for in case of an accident, however, if changed, chances are you also have to reset it
in my 98 grand marquis, the switch is on the left side of the trunk

Did you reset the inertia switch that shuts pump down in case of collision?
