First of all, the fuel pump is generally located in the fuel tank, not always though. Yours probably is, in did not research it. The fuel electric fuel pump turns on only when the ignition key switch is turned to the start position and then left on. A series of one or two relays along with a pressure monitor in the fuel rail delivery system may or not cycle it on and off depending on design. Enough of that. I suggest that you remove the spark plugs to see if they are oil/heavy cabon deposits. If so, professional attention is reguired. One more thing you could try is replacing the spark plug wires. the may be old/worn out/damage. This would give the engine spark a stronger spark,if worn and also replace the spark plugs.

Remove the battery connectors for 5 minutes and replace back afterward.

This will do the trick.

Have shop run an OHM test on your transmission sensors -- then have them replaced and rerun the OHM test. -- it's more than likely an input speed sensor that is not working properly and telling the jeep to go into "limp mode" hence your speed isn't changing but it can't read the actual speed.

Hello! are you using the harness for that year LT1? the fuel air mixture is controled by the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, the Throttle Positioning (TPS) sensor and the Oxygen sensors...When you put your foot in it without O2 sensors there isn't any control over fuel/air mix and ignition advance if the MAP and TPS aren't connected...I'm assuming your using the LT1 ECM...Guru...saailer

The best advice that I can offer is to have your Engine computer scanned and diagnosed by a qualifed sevice technician and find out why the Engine Computer is turning the light on. If the light is on, it is because the computer has stored one or more fault codes. Fault codes NEVER tell you what parts to replace. They only tell you that one or more of the many systems monitored by the computer is operating outside of its expected "Range" or "Window of Operation". It is up to the person performing diagnosis to test the system that is failing and determine the actual cause of the failure and repair as necessary. You can spend a LOT of money replacing a LOT of parts and NOT fix the problem if proper diagnosis is not performed. Fault codes for the Oxygen sensors are RARELY caused by the Oxygen Sensors themselves. Oxygen Sensors are like informers. When someone within the engine management system is not performing their job, it is the Oxygen Sensor's job to rat them out. Replacing the Oxygen Sensors will only cause the new sensor to tell on the same problem. So, in your case, if you have replaced 3 of the Oxygen Sensors, that means that 6 Oxygen sensor have all been trying to tell you that there is a "Slacker" in the ranks! Stop wasting your money and fire the fool!

1990 jeep idles good as soon as you hit the gas it back fires

Get hold of your engine supplier and ask for the ECU (computer) and the whole wiring from the same Jeep ASAP.

Ask them can you stop by an compare the connectors and pin-out

There are few different between Federal and California emission.

California emission engine + ECU will have more sensors.

Make the call ASAP and take careful note on the pin-out from the org. Jeep.

Hi i want to know if its possible for me to remove and disable the exhaust catalyst (air cleaner) from my toyota rav4 1997 coz i think it is closed and my engine is working hardly especially on a up road....

you don't want to take the cat out because the oxygen sensor will make the check engine light to come on.
the up stream oxygen sensor is called air/ fuel ratio sensor, with out that one your engine will not run right

Hi,
This is a broad spectrum of possibilities. I would first start with a simple approach of insuring good gas.
When these symptoms occur, get a bottle of fuel additive and add to your tank. Possibly you have some condensation issues. This could be just the ticket... I hope so. Good luck.

The first thing you need to do is find out what that check engine light is, you local auto parts store will probably pull the codes for you for free. Other than that, maybe the head gasket is blown?
