The fuse marked "panel" will only have power when the lights are on. Turn on the lights and check the fuse with a test-light. NOT just visually, but go get your test light and do it RIGHT!

SOURCE: CHEVY 1500 TRUCK HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF WHEN YOU TURN ON SWITCH

If you have replaced the switch, and it is still doing it it sounds like you definately have a short somewhere in your wiring. On the other hand if the dimmer is in the turn signal arm ( forward bright back dim ) the problem could also be there in the dimmer switch, such as a short being caused by that dimmer switch being faulty.Auto Zone and Discount Auto Parts both test a lot of your electrical problems for free, and/or may have some knowledge to more accurately pin point the problem. Not sure about Pep Boys or some of the other discount auto part chains.

SOURCE: 02 SS Monte Carlo , dash lights have quit working,

this only occured when the ambient light sensor turned on the headlights when it got to dark. if that is happening then check the headlight switch, the one that also dims the interior lights. mine had a burnt connector and fried the circuit board. replaced it and it works good. check for lose wires and connectors in there as well which likely caused the short.

95 Dodge Dakota headlights, taillights dash lights suddenly went out. Have turn signals and flashers, no brake lights. Replace 15 amp fuse under dash that was blown nothing, replaced headlight switch

Did you check for voltage at the 50 amp fuse circuit. Even if the fuse is good if no voltage on the fuse circuit, the circuit is still dead. There is a light green wire that carries voltage from headlamp switch to dimmer, is that wire hot with headlamp switch on?

There are wiring diagrams for free, just about everywhere, if you don't have one. Autozone .com has free wiring diagrams on vehicle repair guides link. You have to register your vehicle, year--make--model, all that good stuff. It's free.

I have no dash lights, tail lights, or parking lights... I checked all the fuses and they are all good... I hooked a power line up to where the fuses belong and all the lights work when i turn on the key...

U.S. Focus?

You have at least 4 fuses in the Battery fuse box under the hood to check, plus the ones in the dash panel fuse box. Did you check them all in both places?

On a 1976 Econoline 150 Motorhome Van the brake lights are out

is probably the brake light switch. it should be at the top of the brake pedal under the dash.

Where is the fuse located for tail lights?

It's under the hood on the driver's side, right under the brake master cylinder. The clips that hold the lid on can be testy.

Running lights brake and dash/interior lights dont work, head lights blinkers reverse lights work checked fuses all were good. is there some other fuse besides the ones in the dash? or is there something...

I was going to say the dash and running lights run off a singular fuse, replace it just in case, also check under the hood, there is another control board under there. possibly a relay might be at fault, worst case, the light switch is faulty. Good luck

I have no dash or running lights and fuse box under hood and under the dash all check out good.

The head light switch controls all this,on this model. The head light switch has gone out.If you will check,on the fuses, marked instrument lps,the fuse will not have power going to it,when you turn on the head lights. To make them work, run a wire from a hot fuse, that is only hot with the key on.You will have parking lights, and dash lights when ever you turn the ignition on.The headlight switch will not control the running lights,or the dash lighting any longer, after you do this. But replacement of the headlight switch will fix the problem correctly. If this has been at all helpful, please let us know, thank you.

Tail and dash lights do not work. fuse is good

I just read somewhere that there may be another fuse box in the trunk, depending on your model. I'm trying to diagnose and fix this exact problem right now. I've already replaced the dimmer switch with one from the junkyard, but it didn't work. If you figure this out please let me know!

Dash lights and tail light not working

The dash lights and tailights are on the same fuse link. everything else will work like brake lights and turn signals but this one fuse causues alot of problems. Sometimes this fuses isnt marked on your cover so you might have to look in the maual to find the right fuse . some will be under the hood some will be under the dash .

Good luck to you all on finding this little fuse hope you find it before the cops pulls out behind you when its dark :)
