How do i fix my 95 legacy trans? its stuck in drive

sounds like your linkage may have disengaged and the trans is stuck in neutral. You need to get under car and check trans linkage.

If your Legacy pre 95 with OBD1, CEL flash slow=10 and fast=1.

Sounds like the regalator could be going bad and needs adjusting

does your heater work? if not than your thermostat is stuck. be careful not to get the car hot as those engines are sensitive and will warp the cylinder heads quickly.

could be a TCU fault (trans ecu) or a bad speed sensor (there are 2) on the trans.

I would say that a bearing froze up or something along those lines. So its not dead but you cannot split the case so finding and replacing it would be loads of fun.

need to get trans looked at no simple fix without looking to diagnose problem,dont drive it till its seen to as it could be serious

This transmission has a 4 wheel drive unit on the back of the trans this has a known fault which this unit could have, take to your local trans specialist and he will be able to verify and qoute, You also could check the fuse for the 4 wheel drive. normally in the fuse box under the bonnet marked 4wd or awd, this also would cause your fault.

Check the awd fuse first, if this is ok then it is likely to be in the transmission the awd section is seperate to the rest of the trans, it has its own solonoid pack which can be a problem. Take to a trans specialist for an accurate diagnosis if the fuse is ok. If the fuse is missing come back to me for further info
