I have a 2004 Neon. It stopped running so I changed the spark plugs, wires, coil box, and used a fuel injector. Plugs 2 and 3 aren't firing but 1 and 4 work just fine. I'm wondering what should be my next step in getting 2 and 3 to fire.

What do you mean by "and used a fuel injector?" Do you mean that you used a fuel injector cleaner, or replaced a fuel injector with a used one, or something else? From your description, it sounds like you believe that you have an ignition problem, which is why your comment about the fuel injector confuses me a bit.

You state that you have replaced the ignition coils, spark plugs, and plug wires. I take it that none of those actions had any affect. In your car, the ignition coil pack is directly driven by the engine computer. I would check the wiring between the engine computer and the ignition coil pack. If that wiring checks out, I would suspect that you have a bad computer. I would be a bit surprised if the computer were bad, but it is a possibility.

The pins you need to check on the engine computer connector are pins 9 and 10 in connector 2. Connector 2 will be orange (not green or white). The wires associated with these pins should be dark blue with tan and black with gray respectively. From what I can decipher from the pictures, it appears that the engine management computer is underneath the air cleaner box. You have to remove the air cleaner box to get to it.

To test the wires, disconnect (or remove) the coil pack and check for continuity between the coil pack connector (not the spark plug wire terminals) and engine computer connector. There should be no resistance in the wires. There should also be no continuity between either wire and ground (as long as you've got the ignition coils disconnected).

Toyota Camry 2003: Cylinder 1, and cylinder 4 not sparking, with injector 1 and 4 not Opening

1,3,4,2, is firing order (is clue 1)
and using (no engine told gee) a quad or dual pack wasted spark coils, they fire 2 at once.
1 and 4 fire
then 3 in 2 files, at same time.
this tech is seen back to 1974 , save money for not having 2 more coils as seen all every new car now. called 4 COP coils;
the ecu cuts fuel if spark fails on all EFI made. (ASE class day2)
the causes are simple. in order of common.
1: the HV wire is bad, for sure carbon or the silicon jello junk wire core sets, pure OEM trash, I only use NGK MAG wires, or BOSCH MAG.
IF, 1 of the 2 spark plugs 1&4 are fouled so bad that act open, fails.
or 21 year old the spark gap is larger than hat rim, bad.
tech1 to tech 2, gee bob ,I can throw my hat thought that gap.
or coil pack bad. well try new plugs first the HV set wires.
or some dweeb swapped coil packs not doing 1 wire at a time
and mixed UP 1 from 3 wire, OOPS !.

the 2 paired spark plugs are wired in series
if one shorts the other works.
if one opens both go dead. Plugs or wires or driven coil)
just like old skool Christmas lites did for decades.

1997 dodge neon stopped running while driving replaced sensors egr, plugs. wires, solenoid, brain cleaned injectors. getting gas don't no what else to do.

Try ignition coils, are you getting fire to the plugs? If you the spark is a weak yellow that may be your problem.

94 chevy 1500 4.3 no spark no fuel

Sounds like you replaced alot of parts for nothing.
The pickup coil in the distributor "fires" the module which grounds the coil and the injectors.
Those components would need to be tested. The coil fires the plugs when the ground is removed by the module or the key switch.

Engine runs rough after a few miles

Easy way to check plugs wires while driving, get 4 or 6 small neon lamps depending on how many cylinders, the neon lamps used in appliances to show they are on are good NOT LEDs.
Remove resistors from neon and connect one side of neon lamps together and earth to body, take other side of each lamp and solder long single telephonr wire and wind about 10 turns around each plug wire insulation a little way from plug leave end of this wire disconnected. make sure the end of wire does not earth anywhere on body leave unconnected. the high voltage going through plug wire will induce enough voltage to fire neon and show plug works if one neon does not flicker as plug fires it the bad one.
This will only show electrical misfire not injector problem.
The best time to do this test is at night neons will flicker bright at night. As a mechanic how to check injector and injector voltage.

My girl friend has a 2004 neon that will not start. The engine cranks over but engine will not fire up. I check for spark at all wires and I have spark. I check for fuel and have good fuel pressure up to...

Darien, just because it's getting good spark at the spark plug wires doesn't mean that the spark plugs are firing. Now let's get your girlfriend happy again, Remove those spark plugs, check the center electrode and see if they are worn down, if they are worn down, change all 4, Good luck, Gary

Did you try swapping plugs & wire with another good cylinder. Maybe bad plug or wire, even though check says wire good.

Dead cylinders 2003 sebring

it sounds like you may have the wires on the wrong coil. It should be #1 on the #4 coil, and the #3 wire on the #2 coil. you probably have them backwards so 1 and 3 are firing on the exhaust stroke.
the firing order is 1-3-4-2.
they should be hooked like this.
