Engine idles rough and loads up 225000 miles same catalytic converter
Rough means misfire,
there are in fact over 50 causes.
hard cold fact.
1: new spark plugs tops list for 100 year running now.
skipping tuneups are you>?
scan it yet, no.
if you scan it , it can tell you which cylinder is misfiring or all of them.
kinda super useful knowing that.
scan it, YOU DO , THEY DO, pick one.
Rough idle is from faulty injectors or maf/vaf sensors or vacuum leaks
run the fault codes to determine the fault area

check vacuum lines would be the first thing i would look at. try taking some carb cleaner and spraying the lines and if you get a change in idle you have a leak

i would say your reverse gear is locking up on you and that you need to get it to a transmission shop before you break the gear off trying to back it up,,it will mess up the other gears

Please be fast about checking your fuel pump. It is not giving enough fuel pressure.

If it has flanges on both ends, just unbolt it and replace. If it has welded pipes you will need to cut it off and use adapter sleeves and clamps. Really not rocket science...at worst, you may need to remove the hangars on the rear portion of the system to get enough room to install.
