I was wondering if my 96 grand Cherokee that idles when its started but seems to not want to idle when it warms up am I on the right track thinking air flow metre or fuel filter or pump would appreciate your feedback
SOURCE: rough idle stalls at low rpm's
check your transmission fluid, the motor will stall when fluid is low

P0505 means the whole Idle Control system, not only the IAM. Check all related sensors (i.e. crankshaft sensor). Check with a voltmeter direct at the connector of the IAM if you get any signal. Remove the IAM from the TB, connect him, let someone switch your ignition key to ON. The IAM need to drive in/out for a short time to find the right position. Hold the IAM near a hard part, that they cant drive out completely! If IAM works fine, check the fuel pressure, check and clean your TB ( if not done yet). If that doesn't work, come back again please

check intake manifold air temp sensor and engine coolant sensor...one may be out of range but not enough to turn on dash light. tests and specs can be found in chiltons or haynes, test is done with digital multi-meter.

CHECK FUEL REGULATOR ON FUEL INJECTOR RAIL,&ALSO FUEL PUMP, CHARLIE
SOURCE: Where is the fuel filter located
Here is a picture of the fuel filter location. If replacing filter does not fix the problem, check fuel pump pressure.
