Check the battery voltage with a volt meter. it should read something higher than 12 volts maybe as much as 14 or 15. have someone turn the key while reading the meter connected to the battery. if the voltage drops to 12 volts or below it would appear you have a bad battery. if this does not fix the problem, you will need to do some advanced troubleshooting. a chilton or haynes service manual may be of some help.

SOURCE: MBZ E320 CDI (2003), The CD, Radio and navigation system not work

Your radio/nav system needs a code. Go the your dealer's parts department , give them the VIN of your car( should be free $0). Punch in the code through the car radio and your radio/nav system should work right away.

SOURCE: i have a 2006 honda

Honda has had a few problems with ignition switches. Sometimes you can wiggle the key around to get things to work. If this works, you need a new ignition switch for sure. Otherwise I would recommend checking the circuits out using the wiring diagrams and the proper test equipment.

hand it over to a mechanic or Nissan. If you recently had an M.O.T and it went of quickly then ask for a refund, even better, ask him to take a look at the car again

SOURCE: I have an '09 toyota camry and the navigation system won't work, tried to hard start the system by disconnecting the battery but it still won't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I think you will need to access the Nav System with a professional
scanner or scan tool & then use manufacture trouble charts, to even know what the system is supposed to do, & how to diagnose it

Hopefully a repair shop, if they want the job, otherwise blow out

Navigator won't start after disconnecting battery for a system reset what's wrong

Maybe it's the security system that disables the ignition. remove the negative cable from the battery and with the ignition switch turned on, connect the cable back. Maybe that will work.

2000 Jetta GLS 5 speed. I bought a new car, I went for a ride in it, drove and idled great. Went to start it later and alarm went off, it turned off after a minute but now the car wont start, battery...

This is a wild guess, but disconnect the positive terminal from your battery. Touch the cable (that went to the positive) to the negative, to drain out any capacitor in the system that is holding charge. I think you have to short it that way for about 10 seconds. Reconnect cable to positive and start car.

That will reset your computer and should reset the alarm as well.

Fuel pump fixed, turns over but still won't start

I don't know much about these but on my daughters 1.0i polo I had to reset the throttle with a computer after disconnecting the battery for a while.
If you are sure you have a spark and fuel getting to the plugs then the fault will lie with timing and fuel mixture.

My 2006 volvo s40 won't start and the key (remote) does not work. Had to use regular key to open the door. alarm still on and car won't start.

I had the same problem when my battery went flat and tried to use jumper cables connected to another vehicles battery. I called Volvo and they said I need to disconnect the battery terminal to reset the computer. After re-conecting it the remote control worked again and I was able to jump start the car. Maybe your car's computer went into a similar state.

I don't know what is wrong with my car the belt just recently broke and we had to replace it but before we did that the battery died when we were driving and we killed the battery trying to get the car...

sounds like it may be a bad alternator. jump start the car and if it gets going disconnect the negative battery cable and if it dies you have a bad alternator. It may die as soon as you unplug the jump start cables.

if it happens again have the code pulled from the computer before clearing it out of the system.that is the only way you will know what the problem is and how serious it is.also have the charging system and battery checked.
