Firing order for 2000 gmc envoy jimmy 4.3 engine

The firing order is 1, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Stand with the engine belts and pulleys nearest to you and the transmission furthest away.
The cylinders on the Left side are the Even numbers, Number 2 is nearest to you, number 4 in the middle and number 6 furthest away from you.
The cylinders on the Right side are the Odd numbers. Number 1 is nearest to you, number 3 in the middle and number 5 furthest away from you.
Take a close look at your distributor cap. Some are actually marked with the numbers 1 to 6 showing which where each spark plug wire should go.

When i turn over the ignition it starts for a second then dies. why?

the problem is the passlock .This system allows starter operation, then kills the injectors 1-2 seconds after startup. The key cylinder housing has a small magnet that rotates past the passlock sensor. The sensor is powered and detects rotation. This is a Anti-Theft System for 2000 jimmy

Will a 1995 Chevy Blazer fuel pump work in a 2000 GMC Jimmy? If not, what years are compatible with a 2000 GMC Jimmy?

That depends on the engine and fuel system. For example, throttle body runs around 12 PSI as where fuel injection (Injectors on each cylinder) can run up to 40 PSI. Run the pump that fits your vehicle!

Set timing 1997 jimmy

Ok that's pretty simple Put cylinder # 1 on TDC= top dead center on the (compressionstroke piston all the way up). Mark on metal part of distributor (with marker) where the number one is on the cap( that's where the number 1 wire plugs in) Then in-plant distributor make sure that rotor point is pointed to #1 on the cap, turn distributor shaft until this is achieved or as close as possible try to center shaft so you can adjust... ****** or advance to fine tune after you in-plant distributor if needed. Contact if you need more help . Good Luck

No key

If you just need a key the dealer could make you one with the serial number and proof of ownership. If not you have to drill out the tumblers.
