It could be many things.
AC / Heater Switch
AC Clutch
Fuses and Relays.
Body Control Module communication issue.

A true manual transmission is exactly that and has no connection to the dash board instruments, other than the speed sensor, which doesn't control the gearbox, but supplies the engine's ECU and dashboard with the relevant vehicle speed information. I can't think of any related reason as to why you should have a related instrument issue and gearbox issue. I would recommend the obvious which is to take the vehicle to an experienced mechanic/technician.

Check the fuse F-19 in the fuse box inside (left side of steering wheel) or fuse marked HVAC Blower under hood fuse block

Check the driver's door switch box. Any poor connections often originate here.

Hello: You have a wiring problem either in the fuse box under the drivers side dash or the fuse box under the hood, also where the wiring going to the engine control module.

Hold light means that your aveo is in manual transmission. It will not shift the trans. you need to manually shift. This is to give you added control in slippery conditions

You will need to remove the dash board of your car.

YOU MIGHT NEED TO CHECK YOUR FUSES

check tps sensor (throttle position sensor in backside of the throttle cable) and map sensor (manifold absolute pressure on front little 1 inch sensor with vacuum line) make sure there plugged in. the ecm (engine control module driver side inner fender) and tcm (transmission control module under dash) both need the data to know when to upshift and increase fuel/air. Otherwise the computer runs default values and guesses off of other sensors giving poor performance. also disconnect battery for 15 min. usually resets aveo service lights if you dont have a scanner.

jack up both sides and remove both wheels and look at the good 1. if this helps please rate
