SOURCE: How do I change a camshaft position sensor on a

Hi : Your CPS (Camshaft position sensor) is located on the Engines Front Cover (Timing Chain Cover) its right below your Cylinder Head ,Get a Good Bright Light to Locate it ,You'll see a Wiring Connector plugged into the Sensor, emove the electrical Plug.
Then you have 1- Screw Holding it in Place -Remove the Retaining Screw and Remove the Sensor.

To replace it with your new Camshaft Sensor Put the Camshaft Sensor in where you took out your Old one,Replace the Retaining Screw Tighten up Good And Snug,Put the Wiring connector back on the Sensor and Your Done. This will get your job done,Let me know Please how My Solution/instructions have Helped you. Thanks From d_hubbs

SOURCE: How do I change the crank position sensor on a

The sensor is actually plugged into the engine block and senses the crank position as one of the crank throws pass it. It is located on the rear of the engine block about midway up the block, it has a connector going to it. See picture below. Be sure you use jack stands to support the car, YOU MUSTA RAISE THE CAR TO ACCESS THE SENSOR OR EVEN SEE IT AND GET UNDER IT. BE CAREFUL!9_30_2011_10_34_25_pm.jpg

Whats code po 343

Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Lack/Loss of Power
- Engine Stall
P0343 Chevrolet Description
The Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor sensor works in conjunction with a 1X reluctor wheel on the camshaft. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) provides a 12 volt power supply to the CMP sensor as well as a ground and a signal circuit.
The CMP sensor determines whether a cylinder is on a firing stroke or on an exhaust stroke. As the camshaft rotates, the reluctor wheel interrupts a magnetic field produced by a magnet within the sensor. The sensors internal circuitry detects this and produces a signal which the PCM reads. The PCM uses this 1X signal in combination with the Crankshaft Position sensor 24X signal in order to determine crankshaft position and stroke. This diagnostic for the Camshaft Position sensor tests for a loss of Camshaft Position sensor signal.
Observe that as long as the Crankshaft Position sensor 24X signal is available, the engine will start. The PCM can determine top dead center for all cylinders by using the Crankshaft Position sensor 24X signal alone. The Camshaft Position sensor 1X signal is used by the PCM to determine if the cylinder at top dead center is on the firing stroke, or the exhaust stroke. The system attempts synchronization and looks for an increase in engine speed indicating the engine started. If the PCM does not detect an increase in engine speed, the PCM incorrectly synchronized to the exhaust stroke and will re-sync to the opposite cam position. A slightly longer cranking time may be a symptom of this condition.

Will not crank

Tps has nothing to do with sparks. If you had sparks going to the distrubuter but none coming out, the cap or rotor is not installed correctly.

Pick-up coil

2002 express doesn't have a pickup coil - it has a camshaft sensor in the distributor, the crankshaft sensor is located in the lower corner of the front cover. Crank sensor is straight forward to replace, the Cam sensor you remove the dist cap and rotor - spin motor over until notch in the shaft lines up with cam sensor, remove bolts and slide up.

2000 chevy express 5.0 2500 series starts, runs and dies all in 10 seconds. changed fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator, and starter(only cause sparks were comming from the solenoid)

Try swapping out the fuel pump relay, if thats good try testing your ignition system components. Start with the module and coil pack. If they are ok check the crank position or cam position sensor (which ever applies).

Where is the camshaft position sensor located on my 1998 k3500 6.5 diesel

According to my service manual, it does not have one. It does have a crankshaft position sensor that is held in beside the crank pulley on the drivers side.
