Timing belt is most likely cause of sudden shut down. The Stratus has a noninterference engine so no damage occurs and the belt change is an easy fix.Open the area. Remove the belt tensioner at the 7 o'clock position compress it and put a pin in the small hole to hold it, Line up the timing marks put the new belt on and pull the pin. Some times it;s the bearing on the crank pulley that fails. If you change it be sure to put the flange to the front, thats what keeps the belt from coming off.

You need to give more info .Like the dash lights don't even come on or the started is turning over but it just wont start . There are so many variable's in a vehicle not starting . There is no way anyone can help you without knowing those things. You may not be getting fuel or you may not have spark your battery could be dead I mean the list goes on and on.

There is no reset.
The fuse and pump relay should be in the fuse box near the battery.
You may have to disconnect the filter or the rail to let the air out of the system. And you may have plugged up the screen in the tank.

Listen for the fuel pump when you first turn on the key to the run position. If you hear it then spray a small amount of starting fluid in air intake while someone tries to start it if the engine fires then most likely a Crank Position Sensor. The CPS controls your injectors.

You need to charge up the battery and check for 12.4-13.6V range.

Most are warrenty for 24,48 or 96 months.

Fuel pump motor portion will ran forever. But the plastic diaphragm will give out in a hot day.

Do a fuel injector pressure test. Below 40 pis is trouble.

Fuel filter should be change if the fuel pump is at fault.


ALL more gas until it's over 1/2 tank and re-test.

A weak fuel pump will take more effort to pull fuel from a near empty tank.
