SOURCE: Bleeding Brakes on a 2001 Silverado Z71

Tony,

When bleeding brakes after the system has been opened for service (you didn't say if you were doing any work on the master cylinder) you should start with the farthest wheel away from the master cylinder, which is the righ rear. Fill the master cylinder, then have an assitant "pump up" the brake pedal. Tell them to hold it down firmly, then open the bleeder on the wheel cylinder(s). Do not release the brake pedal until you have closed the bleeder valve again. You'll know when the air is out - there won't be any more bubbles. Since this vehicle is 2001, this would be a great opportunity to flush the system. Just make sure you have enough brake fluid (DOT 3 or 4, depending on your vehicle). Good luck!

Why were the brake lines replaced?

Sounds like the mastercylinder may have run dry. You have to bench bleed the master and then DO NOT allow fluid to run low, while bleeding brakes...

if master cylinder runs low on fluid and air gets in, almost impossible to bleed with out releasing the lines and bleed master it self.

SOURCE: Why is my fuel gauge on my 2000 chevy tahoe moving

you are probably correct. there are two contacts on the level sensor that wear out, which gives you the fluctuating gauge.

I changed the rear brake calipers on my 2000 chevy Z71 i get oil out of both after bleeding but brake peddle still is spongy

Ok many people have this problem when they do brakes that ABS equiped. First of all make sure that all your connection are tight at the calipers. Check and make sure you have no visible leaks at all every where on the vehicle. Second alot of people do not know that the vehicle must be running when you bleed the brakes when the vehicle has ABS brakes. So the solution to your problem is very simple check to make sure master cylinder is full, then start your vehicle and have some one pump the brakes then hold down and open bleeder valve. You need to do this several times with ABS brakes, make sure you continue to check master cylinder fluid level continuously. Always start bleeding the brake that is farthest away from master cylinder first then continue to work your way to the closesest. Remeber when bleeding brakes when equiped with ABS the vehicle must be running to allow the ABS pump to run and bleed as well.

2002 chevy tahoe z71, passenger side brakes are intermittently dragging, brake pad smell.

Your problem indicates that the right caliper has failed. Assuming it is the right front brake, you'll need work done on both front brakes at a minimum. Have them change out your fluid when you get the work done as old fluid could have contributed to the failure.

Why is my fuel gauge on my 2000 chevy tahoe moving

I think so too. May be sulfur from the fuel on the resister card that the wiper travels over. Try adding some Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner to 1/4 tank of gas and see if it gets better.
