Just rebuilt the engine, new clutch plate, not many parts that have not been replaced. Sometimes very hard, if able to at all, shift into gear, moving or sitting. Yesterday, drove it 45 miles and no problem. All of a sudden it didnt want to shift at all. WE have tried clutching alot, thinking it might need to be bled out, pumping the clutch. We are out of ideas. Sound familiar to you?

For the key issue, try shooting some wd-40 into the tumbler, and working the key a bit. If that doesn't correct the issue, eventually you will need to replace the tumbler.
The hard shift is most likely not related to the clutch. As long as the vehicle has good acceleration, and you don't feel slipping, the clutch is fine. The issue may be related to a damaged cable, or to the linkage at the transmission itself.

Hopefully it's just the clutch, you may have snapped a shaft too. If the engine was just idling, I can't imagine it did too much damage, even with those miles.
I would have it towed to a transmission shop and checked out!
