Sounds as if you have blown a fusible link. Don't know Fords that well, but usually these are inside the several hot wires going to the battery +, or the starter main +.

SOURCE: 1984 Ford F-150 Starter problem

You have a bad connection. It will pass enough current to keep things running, but the starter load is causing it to burn the spots that are making contact.

I had this same issue with my '86 F-150, and the final solution was to replace the all the heavy cables: battery to solenoid, solenoid, to starter, and block to battery ground. Thoroughly clean the block where the negative cable connects, and the battery terminals.

SOURCE: cannot connect the negative battery terminal without spark or starter turning over

You will need new igniton cylinder. Sounds like you have a short in the cylinder.

01 mustang gt cranks once

Sounds to me that your starter is gone. There is one thing you can do, try tapping ya starter and then try starting the car. If it starts then you have what is called a dead spot in ya starter. The only fix for this is a new starter. Make sure that you dont have a bad wire going to your starter also. Hope this helps.

2001 mustang gt,all access. work fully charged

I would suspect the starter solenoid has failed.

A starter solenoid (or starter relay) is the part of an automobile which relays a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. In many vehicles the solenoid also engages the starter pinion with the ring gear of the engine.

The starter solenoid receives a large electric current from the car battery and a small electric current from the ignition switch. When the ignition switch is turned on, a small electric current is sent to the starter solenoid. This causes the starter solenoid to close a pair of heavy contacts, thus relaying a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. The starter motor is an electric motor that initiates piston motion in a car's internal combustion engine before it can power itself.

No power at key switch

The fuse links are at the starter motor, you may have not connected one.
