Spark plug wires mismatched. 1996 GMC Sonoma Pickup Truck.

I just bought the truck and the spark plug wires are messed up. I need instructions on which spark plug connects to which port on the distributor. 2.2 Liter 4 cylinder engine.

Then I guess this is a replacement engine, because it definitely has a distributor located on the rear of the engine on the passenger side. It is a 4 cylinder engine.

Their is no distributor on a this vehicle from the factory. Their are two coil packs loctated underneath the intake manifold. If the coil packs have not been replaced then they will be labled 1-4 in white numbers next to the terminal. The pack lolcated on the lowerside of the ignition module should be 2 / 3 and the top 1 / 4.

WHAT IS THE spark plug firing order on a 1996 GMC sonoma pickup truck

For an Inline 4 like I'm assuming, 1-3-4-2. If you have a V6, I believe it is the "Kindergarten Pattern", 1-2-3-4-5-6.

Need a tune up on a 1996 GMC snoma,5 speed,2.2 ltr.

Get sparkplugs and plug wires. A/C delco plugs if possible. Gap plugs to .060 witha spark plug gapper. Use a 3/8 rachet and extention with a 5/8 spark plug socket will make the job easier, and last but not least stay calm and work through everything. good luck

check to see if you're getting spark from coil into distrubitor. if you replaced al those, the only thing i can think is it's the coil.
