Expres van rpm to high - 2006 Chevrolet Express

Why was rpm so high? Trans stuck in 2nd? Crazy rear end gear? Does it always do this, or was this abnormal? As to blown seal, replace it.

you cant adjust the idle ethere you have a problem with tps sensor or idle control valve let me know if check engine light is on ok ill help you

The gallop you say that is happening I assume is a cycling Normal RPM to High RPM condition. This is most commonly due to a problem in the Vacuum advance system or a loose or stretched timing belt/chain. Check the timing and see if that is fluctuating.

u might be right but also check over the vacuum system for a leak often it is just lossing to much vacuum some where else.....hope it helps

Adjust your timing and plug the thing in to check for fault codes.

Does your van have an "EAT" switch -- lower right hand side of instrument panel?

Pressing the switch in changes the shift points by making the transmission shift at a higher RPM.

If the van has the "EAT" switch and it is engaged, try pushing it in again to disengage it.

the vehicle has a rev limiter built in. this is what you probably feeling. Are you passing? The rpm's shouldn't be that high at 60

Check the Air cleaner to make sure it is connected correctly. If the air is not coming through the air filter and its full assembly you will see this problem. Been there
