2003 nissan maxima p0021 bank 2 cam timing 40 degrees advanced at idle

To review - - the intake valve solenoid valve controls the flow of oil thru the control valve to adjust valve timing.
The code means the computer "sees" the valve timing as out of range and/or not controllable.
Possible causes could be a defective or stuck solenoid valve, dirty oil causing a blockage, a faulty cam sensor or faulty crank sensor.
Other than changing the oil and filter, the components would need to be checked with a scanner that can look at live data.

I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima and the check engine light has come on. One of the codes being reported is P0021. It seems to be related to a cam position sensor. Does anyone know the location of the sensor?...

Here is the location....

Hi i have 02 altima 3.5 v6 who have check engine light with code p1800 what is manufactured transmission control can anyone help me what that means?

You may want to have someone else take a look at it. The Nissan P1800 trouble code is not a transmission control problem. It is described as follows:

Trouble diagnosis name: VIAS control solenoid valve circuit.
Component Description:
The VIAS control solenoid valve cuts the intake manifold vacuum signal for power valve control. It responds to ON/OFF signals from the ECM. When the solenoid is off, the vacuum signal from the intake manifold is cut. When the ECM sends an ON signal the coil pulls the plunger downward and feeds the vacuum signal to the power valve actuator.
DTC detecting condition:
•An excessively low or high voltage signal is sent to ECM through the valve.
Possible cause:
•Harness or connectors (The solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted.)
•VIAS control solenoid valve

Check your vacuum hoses to make sure they are in good shape and are securely attached Aslo check the wiring harness is ok and securely attached as well. If they are, you’ll probably need to replace your VIAS. It's right next to the throttle body.
