2003 4.0 lt jeep rubicon hit a big bump and it stalled cranks over fine but not firing checked all fuses, ok. fuel pump not on , connect direct and it works but not with key. starts for couple secs. when put fuel in throd body. any idea why not starting?
Check to see if their is any fuses blown or change out the fuel pump relay and also check to see if the ground to the fuel pump is getting a good connection these things should solve your problem.Good luck
OK WELL IF U HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE THIS UR GONNA HAVE TO CHECK TO SEE IF THE FUEL PUMP IS GETTING POWER TO IT IF NOT THEN CHECK TO SEE IF THE JEEP DOES NOT HAVE A FUEL SAFETY SHUTOFF THIS COULD BE LOCATED IN THE BACK OF THE JEEP INSIDE A PANEL.ALSO ON THE RELAYS TRY SWAPING THEM AROUND RELAYS ARE HARD TO CHECK TO SEE IF THEIR GOOD.THATS MY WAY OF TESTING RELAYS. WELL GOOD LUCK IM GONNA KEEP RESEARCHING DIS PROBLEM SO KEEP ME INFORMED IF THIS DOES NOT WORK OUT FOR YA. OH YA WHAT SIZE MOTOR DOES THIS VEHICLE HAVE?
hey i got some more info on your problem You don't have the fuel pump relay or the fuel cut off switch what you got is a integrated power module that powers the fuel pump thru the fuel pump module.i got some of my gearhead buddysgears turing in their heads i will keep looking into this for ya oh you said that youve put power back to the fuel pump did the vehicle start?

2007 Wrangler Unlimited - Died one day last week. Checked fuses, etc. Would crank but not start. Started and ran while spraying carb cleaner in intake, indicating PCM functional, spark functional, crank sensor functional. Did not locate schrader valve to check fuel pressure at rail. Replaced fuel pump. Same result, Crank no start. No codes. Now, when attempting to start, at times the starter will continue to run until key is turned off. This lead to a dead battery quickly so now attempts to start are performed with another vehicle connected to this one. Impossible for CKP sensor to be faulty and vehicle run on carb cleaner. . . ?
Side note - Fuse 37 states it is for the Fuel Pump Relay. . . I was unable to locate a fuel pump relay. Fuse 25 is for the fuel pump. Both fuses are good, and fuse 25 has +12V with ignition on. Fuse 37 has -12V. Where might the fuel pump relay be if not in the fusebox? Alternate fusebox? Labeled as something different or using a relay that is used for something else as well?
The Start/Run relays produce a whining noise while the ignition is on, unsure if this is indicative of problems. Cannot recall hearing relay whine / hiss in all my years.
3.8 v6. No power to fuel pump but works when I send current to it. I will look for the panal in the back... thank you so much!! I miss my Jeep its been down for a week and half now..
