Alarm sounding upon unlocking door with key

there is a sensor that tells the anti theft module you used the key to unlock the door, it is attached to the door latch or lock cylinder, u must have disconnected the wire to the sensor, so it thinks u are breaking into the car.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee HatchBack Lock Repair

It's your electronic actuator, and yes there is a little door on the inside of your jeep down on the bottom driver's side corner of that door. The actuator will run you 300-400 new, or 50 from a salvage yard.

Grand Cherokee 98

You have a door ajar switch that has a bad connection, it causes this issue, The drivers door and the tailgate are the most likely places these switch's fail or develop intermittent faults like this, Did this shop test the control module while opening and closing doors? If they didn't then they don't really know the system, take it to a dealer.
