It's actually super easy.
All you need is your year and make alternator belt and a wrench.
Take off the existing altenator, take off the old belt.
Once the altenator is off you'll be able to look further down below where the altenator was. You'll see a metal wheel that's a little bigger than the one on the altenator. This is where the new belt needs to wrap around.
I found it alot easier to wrap the belts around the two wheels before putting the altenator back on the engine.
Make sure that all bolts and seals are sound. (that's the last thing you need falling off in the middle of nowhere!)
Hope it helped!

SOURCE: geo died no fire dont know anything about cars.

timing belt would be my guess. have had that happen to me on 2 different geo's. Not a real hard item to replace, and the price of the belt and new seal is around $25.00, But labor can run a couple hudred.

Your catalytic convertor is stopped up, common problem on Geo's! Will burn an exhaust valve if you keep driving it!

What would make my 93 GEO WILL START AND IDLE BUT AS SOON AS U GIVE IT ANY GAS IT ACTS LIKEW IT WANTS TO DIE....IF U FAN THE GAS PEDAL IT STILL WANTS TOI DIE (WHICH IT DOES)

Geo what? metro,sidekick,prizm, Storm?
which engine? is in it?
Sounds(soundless) like, many things. (seen them all)
1: timing belt slipped, low compression (gauge it)
150psi good 80 bad. a 60k mile tuneup item (on the list) lost it?
2: needs a tuneup, spark parts are toast.
3: serious fueling issues.? takes tools , ask. (low fuel pressure
4: EGR valve suck open, a 50k service check.
5: the rare melt cat converter. (well ,not so rare in 93)
6: bad fuel, is fuel odd, this thing sit a long time?

all can be discovered in hr, work by any tech.
but with no tools , it's all just a guessing game.
got tools? want to buy some? what to do it? ask how.

1994 geo metro idles fine but when given gas dies out

Could be a few things. Check fuel filter/pump. Try giving it gas in park, does it sound like its starving for fuel?

Push gas pedal to fast and the car dies when warmed up but fine when cold

that is a bad idle air control valve. it is located on the thottle body next to the thottle position sensor

Geo Metro 1994, diagnose no fuel presure problem.

Quite a few things can cause a car to die after idling for awhile, but if you have verified that the fuel pressure is actually dropping when the motor dies, the likely culprits are:
1) Electric fuel pump in the gas tank is bad
2) The fuel pressure regulator (on the throttle body) is bad
3) An electrical problem in the power to the fuel pump (like a bad fuel pump relay or lose ground wire to the relay's circuit)
