Follow your upper radiator hose to engine at the end of the hose to engine under that aluminum neck is your thermostat,usually two or three small bolt hold it down,before you take it out,look which way it is sitting there ,so you you don't put backward,or your engine will over haet

on the 08 aveo you simply remove the trim pieces on the left and right of the cd player there you will find 2 mounting screws per side undo cd player slides rate out i replaced mine with 2 din touch screen dvd w\ gps 2 10 inch subs 1000watt amp in band pass audio box and 600 watt amp and 2 5 1\2 inch lanzars lotta boon im my vroom vroom

is your hood popped or loose? open the hood and look at the latch to see if its broken or if its not closing the whole way when you close the hood. if everything looks good try adjusting the hieght of the bumpers which the hood sits on. don't go crazy with adjusting the bumpers.
What the problem probably is tho is a bad hood sensor. its a little button that is pressed when the hood is closed. they can go bad if someone spills fluid or they get loose. you can try to replace it then if you can see it (might need to remove some plastic)mbut i would just take it to a local shop. as long as it does close the whole way and you don't physically see the hood bouncing in the wind or open, its safe to drive.
