My 1999 mustang convertible top won't raise up. I set the brake and pushed the button and nothing happens. It used to work just fine and one day it just quit. I haven't checked the fuses because I don't have a manual. Can anyone help me find a manual and give me some solutions, easiest to most indepth on what might be causing this? Thank you for your help.
You don't need a manual to check the fuses 1 at a time. Just doing a visual (or use multimeter) will sometimes let you find a bad fuse. You do know that the top is raised and lowered using small motor located under the hood. Use dianostic code reader to find out who, what, where the problem is. Most readers are free to use at Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts, and NAPA.
Theres a relay box where top folds behind back seat that ive had trouble with before on numerous occasions on mustangs before

There is a fuse No.20 (15amp) in the under dash fuse panel and a 25amp circuit breaker in the under hood fuse panel that controls the top.

Check your manual for the location of the top fuse.
Your car left the factory as a hardtop and was converted to a soft top by a Chrysler authorized company so the top fuse(s) may not be with the other fuses.

You are probably low on fluid.
Behind the rear seat is your motor/pump/reservoir combination.
With the top down, fill the reservoir to overflowing with ATF.
Cycle the system a few times and repeat.
Do this till the reservoir will take no more fluid.
Check the lines and cylinders for leaks. The fluid must be going somewhere.
If you replace any lines or cylinders, always do them in pairs.

probably the switches need replacing. converibles have the weathering problem, because they are subject to harsh climate conditions when top down driving.
