Look for something hung up in the linkage. i think it was still a manual linkage in 84.

    Foot slipped off

if it's hydrolic it could be a few different things. but if it's manual linkage and was a bit loose it could have come loose and jamed up in the frame or into the side of the trans. only takes a minute to look. good luck. i hope it's minor.

SOURCE: Replaced clutch but pedal will not move down at all now on 98 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd

Sounds like the release bearing is in backwards! No check valve. If the peddle was pushed, it would pop the slave cylinder piston. 2/ The clutch disc could be in backwards too! Either way, you will need to pull the tranny! Sorry! Frankster016

SOURCE: Clutch needs to be adjusted on 1995 Chevy 2500 Pickup

You might still have a little air in the system, try bleeding it one more time. There isn't any adjustment like on a cable clutch system.

SOURCE: Clutch pedal does not disengage clutch

If the car hasn't been driven for a while it could be corrosion on the fork but I think that is unlikely. I think you are right about the release bearing being jammed in the spring. If the truck has quite high mileage, it probably means a clutch job.

Trouble shoot 2500masda truck that won t start after I replace clutch and slave cylinder

Did you reconnect the wires and re-position the clutch safety switch at the clutch pedal assembly? If this switch is not positioned or connected correctly it will not allow the truck to start.

Chevy manual transmission

You need to watch the clutch slave cylinder while someone pushes in the clutch .... is the arm coming out ? If it is check that it is tight up against the arm. It doesn't take much movement to engage the clutch but if there is slack it won't work.

I have a chevy s10 and the clutch petal is very hard to push

Most likely clutch is worn out, increases pedal height and pedal resistance, recommend replace if around 100,000 miles old. Also good idea to replace clutch master and slave, and service trans fluid.

How to check to see if clutchslipping on a chevy a10

Normally when a clutch "slips" you can almost come to a stop without killing the engine. Also, the truck will not speed up even tho the engine is, such as when you are in a high gear or climbing a hill.
Often times, if the clutch is worn out, it will have a high pedal, you can tell the clutch is disengaging as soon as you push down on the pedal instead of half way down to the floor. Same thing if the clutch is oil soaked.

1990 nissan pickup will not stsrt untille preeing the clutch interlock switch on dash, then start up.

try pressing the clutch pedal down at different heights and see if it will start, if so then you will need to adjust the linkages to the clutch pedal. if it still won't start, then you will need to replace the neutral safety switch.

1991 Toyota pickup 4WD clutch slipping

There is an adjustment for the clutch pedal under the dash where the push rod goes thru the firewall. There is only aprx. 1/2" of adjustment so be careful when making an adjustment, if your clutch is slipping then you need to shorten the throw of the push rod.

84 hilux clutch

Have your primary clutch master cylinder (found on the engine's firewall) and the secondary clutch cylinder (found at the side of the bell haousing of your transmission) checked. It is hard to convert your kind of transmission into cable type, cables pull while fluid type clutch push, just have it repaired.
