Look for something hung up in the linkage. i think it was still a manual linkage in 84.
My son's slipped off the clutch when he was pulling into park it. Thank you we will look at that. It's just my feed trk but I do use it from time to time.
Foot slipped off
if it's hydrolic it could be a few different things. but if it's manual linkage and was a bit loose it could have come loose and jamed up in the frame or into the side of the trans. only takes a minute to look. good luck. i hope it's minor.
Thanks..I will let my son & his friend know....

SOURCE: Replaced clutch but pedal will not move down at all now on 98 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd
Sounds like the release bearing is in backwards! No check valve. If the peddle was pushed, it would pop the slave cylinder piston. 2/ The clutch disc could be in backwards too! Either way, you will need to pull the tranny! Sorry! Frankster016

You might still have a little air in the system, try bleeding it one more time. There isn't any adjustment like on a cable clutch system.
SOURCE: Clutch pedal does not disengage clutch
If the car hasn't been driven for a while it could be corrosion on the fork but I think that is unlikely. I think you are right about the release bearing being jammed in the spring. If the truck has quite high mileage, it probably means a clutch job.
