Hi Mario, I may be behind times, but believe the sensors you're referring to are the turbine pressure sensors. There are usually two, mounted onto he turbo inter-cooler. Regards John.

SOURCE: I HAVE A HONDA CIVIC WITH TROUBLECODES INDICATING

If you google 97honda input speed sensor you will find several pictures. (Go to google images and input the above).

IF your input speed sensor goes bad the trans controll unit see's an "incorrect gear ratio".

Check your fluid too. If it is clean, you probably do not have a Major problem I have been rebuilding transmissions since the 80's and only stopped in 06. I have had many that only needed a new sensor like the input or output speed sensor. Try removing the input first and clean off the magnet. It is a pulse width modulator that uses a magnet with lands of metal passing through the magnetic field and the computer counts the pulse made by a collapsing field to determine the speed of the input drum. It compares it to what gear it is in and what the output speed is and if there is a problem it will set the codes you see.

Sometimes find metal from wear in the unit will accumulate on the magnet interfering with the input. Other times the sensor just fails, either way, it is usually not bad unless something is tearing up in the unit to cause a lot of metal to adhere to the mag.

Hope this helps

SOURCE: 1996 accord lx 4cyl at. Code is transmission input

Stand on passenger side of vehicle with hood up, look down kind of behind the throttle body but still close to the side of the car. It should be sitting on top of the tranny with a connnector with 2 or 3 wires coming out of it. It also has a little straight gear in it that spins with the tranny, make sure and dont drop this out or it wont work.

    Input/turbine speed sensor circuit

Your speed sensor, is located on top of the transaxle, near the starter. To access it, remove the battery, then remove the battery tray (4 10mm bolts). You will see wires coming from the lower oxygen sensor, and they snap into the bracket that holds the speed sensor in place. The actual speed sensor has a 2 wire clip on it, and is held in place by the bracket and a 10mm bolt.
