This is a dirt track car I bought last offseason. When I bought it, it fired and idled fine. When you revved it there was a slight pop or backfire but kept going fine. Don't know if this is part of the problem but at the first practice of the year, we caught the fuel lines when unloading from trailer and broke both of them. Repaired them. When you started it, it fired and idles but seemed to be running rich. When revving it would run rough but smooth out after a couple minutes feathering the throttle and would run fine. If you shut it off and restarted a few minutes later it would do it again. Saturday night, it started fine but when you opened the throttle it would bog down and stall if you didn't let off accelerator. It would still idle fine. After feathering and warming up, it would run fine. However, 2 laps in it cut off while accelerating, just died in the heat. Got it refired and after feathering a minute it went from running rough to okay again. Started the feature and it cut out again and completely stalled. Got in the infield and started it back up after a couple tries and ran rough. Feathered the throttle a minute or so and it cleared out. Any ideas? First year racing and can only think since it's running rich it could be the throttle position sensor? Help please!!!
Sounds like it is slightly out of time.
Testimonial: "Last night fired it back up after changing throttle position sensor. It still was doing the same thing. However, when I shut it down, there was a "buzzing" from the fuse box. The fuse for fuel injector was actually vibrating. I pulled it and put it back in and it stopped. Not sure if whatever is causing that is causing it to run rich but kinda makes sense to me"

Hi Dan Blaker, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. I need to know if the car is TBI (Throttle Body Injection) or Sequential/Multiport Fuel Injection. Also, is there a "Check Engine" light condition?
Can you please add details in the comment box?
Hi, it's multiport fuel injection. also, there is no check engine light in the car, as it's a dirt track car so everything is stripped. :(
