I have a 1996 Cavalier that we race at a local dirt track. Last night the right rear hub broke on the car. What can i do to fix this issue so that it does not happen again?

I have a 2002 Chev Cavalier that had the same exact problem. I replaced the bulb harness (purchased from a chevy dealership for around $5) which was fairly easy to do. I have had zero problems with it since.

Usually goes to a junction block on the axle. Measure it when you get it out. You don't have to duplicate it exactly but make sure that it dosen't rub on anything when axle moves. If you can't get exact length, you can use brass couplers. If line fitting on either wheel cylinder or junction is rusted in, cut the line flush with the fitting and use a six point socket on it. Make sure you bleed system when finished. (not just one wheel)

Was this problem there before you changed the Brake shoes. The cavalier has shoes on the rear.
It seems like the leaning show the SHORT one is not facing the front of the car where it should be. If you check the shoes one is shorter than the other in a set. Hope this works. Some model year Cavalier also had a problem with the Backing plate the plate the shoes attaches to.

sounds like another bad hub brg, jack up front end and check for play in wheels from top to bottom wiggle for movement. A loose wheel brg will set a front speed sensor code.
SOURCE: how do I replace broken wheel studs on the Front
The studs will plainly hammer out. Hit the threaded part till it will wobble. A hole on the back side of the hub will be there to pull the broken stud out. Replace it with a new one and use the lug nut to tighten in in. Stacking washers will help very much doing this process. If none are available have the wheel installed to get the studs in tight
