when you mean hot ,normal running temp ,if its not starting after ,normal driving and not over heating, check the temp sensor as this tell the computer ,whats going on with the motor ,if its no good it could be the cause of the prob,as it could be sending the wrong temp message to the computer
Many things could be your problem
1- coolant temperature or wiring defect
2- Cooling fan not working
3- Need to retrieve any engine faulty code with a scanner.
4- With a scanner look for any data that is not normal.
See a good auto technician
does the engine run at normal temp
if not the thermostat is stuck open replace it
if it runs at normal temp your heater core is clogged needs to be replaced
give me feed back how it works for you
I would say no more than 210 F, Say you have a thermostat listed at 185, or 195, they open up at that temp, the engine under normal driving will run between 195 and 210, you really don't want to see 250. even though coolant boils at 265+, in a pressurized unit, and some cars are supposed to run that hot, I don't like the idea. Hope this helps.
1st check the coolant level to make sure it's ok, low level can result in insufficient heat. What is going on with the engine temp? Is it running on the 'cool' side or normal range, in the normal zone, or running hot? If it is on the low side of normal, you may need a new thermostat. If the thermostat sticks open, the engine won't reach operating temp, and you will have minimal heat.
Your electric fan is probibly not running.Fan switch, fan relay or the fan could be bad.If it is getting hot and you pop the hood you should hear the fan running.
