Engine light blinking,shaking Has a misfire bad enough that will damage the catalytic converter . Bad coil's , plug's , ignition module going bad . Have the vehicle checked for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes .
May be low oil, low oil pressure (faulty oil pump) or a bad pressure switch. When your at highway speeds the pump, pumps faster & brings the oil to the right PSI. Try a thicker oil than called for, get the oil pressure checked,oil leaks? & get the switch ckd out.
Blinking means that the problem is so bad that it can damage the engine if you drive it. You need to get a code reader from an autoparts store and read the codes to see what the issue is.
Your engine has a cylinder miss-firing, that not only shakes the car but makes the check engine light blink the cylinder number that is missing, don't drive the car this way or u will overheat the exhaust catalytic converter, this can cause a fire.
