Also i just put a new trans output seal in it and put 80/90 gear oil in it . is the clutch going out? i dont understand why the wheels want to spin in neutral when its off the ground.
The clutch is dragging.
adjust the clutch cable, better is to replace it these cars
the cable goes bad inside (fray) and causes it to be the clutch from hell, get a new cable, or go nuts, saw 3 guys replace a clutch when its only the silly cable. bad. it must be set with free play.
the whole deal is here.

SOURCE: when i push the clutch in it won't go into gear
Check the master cylinder resevoir and make sure you have sufficient fluid. Hopefully it isn't your tranny.
SOURCE: no tension on clutch peddle
NAH.

easy huh
SOURCE: Clutch doesn't neutralize gears to shift.
check the cly. and the fluid leveal if not the clutch went out
SOURCE: just recently changed my clutch
the shift linkage may need to be adjusted a bit or the shift forks and engaged gears for 4th and 5th may have worn enough that they need to be inspected and fixed.
SOURCE: 1989 geo tracker trans will not shift into 1-3-5 gears
Pull the shifer back out look inside with a lite and sure all shift rails are in the nuetral position and install the shifter carefully into the hole alining it with the shifter rails.experiance is neededJohnny
