Firing order just put on new distrubiter cap for a 95 pontiac transport van just needin the firing order

for any car find and remove # 1 plug for # 1 cylinder ,turn motor to TDC open distrubiter cap and see where rotor is pointing , that is # 1 plug to # 1 cylinder now follow your firing order placing wires . and you have it

if it is a vortec motor the wire numbers are on the cap 3 on one sid 4 on the other one of them being the coil wire

The 2.0 Land the 2.3 are the same on the block its 1234 from front to rear and the firing order is 1-3-4-2 .You just need to get #1 cylinder at the top of the compression stroke and if the distrubiter shaft is in correctly the rotor will be on the #1 cylinderon the cap next would be # 3 then 4 and then 2 if you hook it up like this it should work

Answer to firing order

Firing order for 1992 chevy astro 4.3L, From front of engine driver's (left) side No.1, to right front, No.2. left side middle cyl. No.3. Right side mid. cyl. No.4. Rear cyl. left side, No.5. Rear rihgt No.6. On the Distributer cap from No.1 (should be marked) plug tower order is 1,6,5,4,3,2.

You have to check all the pulleys that the belt runs and see which one is seized or does not turn easily.Then you will know what is causing the problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.

I would pull the plugs and let the gas into the cylinders to dry out , you may have a hydrolock engine after putting so much gas into it , recheck the firing order to be sure is OK ususlly when you see a carb backfiring and smoking the firing order is not right
