IT is possible that the battery removal will affect the CPU program which controls the immobiliser as some times the power surge on reconnection causes this. Useing a scanner to reset the CPU program should fix the problems

if its a factory alarm you put the key in and quickly turn the key on and of i cant remember if its 8 or 9 times but the horn will chirp then you push the lock and unlock on the fob the locks should respond then turn key off and your done. note that if you have more than one fob you have to press lock and unlock on all of them before you turn the key off and i believe you only have about fifteen seconds to do so if not let me know i will look it up at work

SOURCE: disarming the alarm
Try this,I think this will work.Unplug the Remote anti-theft module in the right hand kick panel. It will have 2 connectors, one is 22 cavity connector and the other is 26 cavity connector.
Now best I can tell by looking at the Schematics you will have you take the wires from pin 11 PK/LG and pin 22 PK/YE in the 22 pin connector and pin 1 LG in the 26 pin connector and run these to a ground. Then leave the RAP module disconnected. This should keep your electric door locks working and disable the alarm.

hi, yeah this is a common problem. And the dealership will charge you about £40 just to reset the radio so they can get the code (thats what they tell you anyway)
if you can take the radio out and post the serial number that is on the side, should start with the letter M****** i should be able to post you the radio code using your serial number.

I have just changed my battery on a 56 plate. You need to remove the air box in front of the battery compartment as the battery has to slide forward to come out. Firstly look down at the box and at the front is black rectangular pipe going to the air grill at the front of the car. At the top of the pipe is a plastic clip, unhook this and slide the pipe down away from the box. It takes a bit of force but it will clip out. Then at the back of the air box there is a large pipe with a circlip on it. Undo the circlip and remove the pipe from the box, You can leave the sensor in the air box and then just pull the air box free. It is only held in with rubber gromits. Once free move it to one side and you can remove the casing and then remove the retaining bolt holding the battery in.
