When I tried to back the Chevy G 20 1988 van the other day ,it would not hardly back up. Goes forward just fine. Could it be a vaccum hose or modular or what can I do to fix it that won't cost a lot? My husband has Stage 4 cancer and we need our van to go places. Thanks, PatWhen I tried to back the Chevy G 20 1988 van the other day ,it would not hardly back up. Goes forward just fine. Hi there's this website something like reliable-store and it is very amazing for manua l for repairing servicing anything
someone on fixya recommended it to me and I thank him even today
They have full manuals and it's verrrrry cheap and mine
I got free in offers
3rd time I bought it, I also had an issue with the file so the girl replaced it in 30 mins
there is one website more but i don't remember its name it was 2 years back bitman something link this
Try these out brother
If it is an automatic transmission, first check the fluid level. If it is low, fill it up and try it again. If the level is fine, then there is a bigger issue and you should seek a professional's help.
put the fuse back in and try this,, when the alarm goes off, try holding down the Lock and unlock buttons at the same time, that should reset your alarm
They probably told you to turn the key forward to the RUN position and wait 10 minutes until the SECURITY light goes out on your dash. If your vehicle continues to do this, it is most likely caused by a defective ignition tumbler. It is having a hard time recognizing your key and will not allow the engine to start. If you can get it running again, I would recommend getting the ignition lock cylinder replaced.
I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect! covers wiring,
codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything
got it from www.reliable-store.com
start the vehicle, shift transmission to nuetral. then move the 4x4 shifter to the 2wd position. then shift the transmission into reverse and back up a few feet straight, then drive forwards. it should be out of 4x4.
