The diagram is part of headlamps diagram. When you turn on headlamps, is there voltage at the headlamp fuse? Use a test light to check for voltage. If the fuse isn't hot, pull the relay, in diagram, use a jumper wire between cavities 30 and 87, note the diagram, That is switch side of relay, left side in diagram. Any reaction from headlamps when using jumper wire? The right side of relay, in diagram, is the control side, control side needs voltage and ground in order to energize relay. Terminal 85 is hot all the time. Terminal 86 is grounded by the bcm. I agree with other post, voltage and grounds are important. good luck
Honestly, there simply not much difficulty to the way headlights are wired on any vehicle. Standard headlights receive positive 12v from the headlight switch directly (or through a relay, if you have automatic headlights), and the switch receives power through the fuse block from the battery. When you turn the headlight switch on, you should get 12v at the input connector to your headlights. If the headlight connector is not receiving +12v at the connector when you turn the headlight switch on, check the fuse, the switch, and the relay. If the headlight assembly is receiving +12v at the connector, check the bulb. If the bulb tests good with an ohmmeter, check for a broken ground wire. That is simply all there is.
Doing automotive electrical testing is the proper way to find electrical problems , not cutting wires an replacing switch's etc... No wonder your stuck ! You have no clue on automotive electrical trouble shooting . Looking at wiring diagrams to see what all is involved in making these thing's work , testing B+ voltage an ground circuits to see what is missing is how to fix . According to my wiring diagram, the headlight switch works a relay which is powered by two different fuses. I would check the relay for voltage first. You may need a repair manual to trace the circuits.
Not sure what you mean when you say complete diagram but below is the wiring diagram for the headlights only. Other than a possible problem in the switch itself, the only common thing I see is both headlughts have the same ground location. In the last picture I have put an arrow as to the location of that ground which you may want to clean and see if that takes care of it. Hope this helps....

That's quite odd, because there is NO headlight relay on this vehicle- only a 40 amp fuse located in the power distribution box that sits behind the battery inside the engine bay. The switch is notorious for burning out because there is NO RELAY on this vehicle, and there is a recall (#819) but this only affects 3500 models even though the headlight wiring is the same for 1500,2500 and 3500 model Rams. ya know it kinda sounds like the headlight switch that switches from high beam to low beam has a bad contact. You don't have one of those 4-beam modules that turn on all 4 lights on high beam do you? that thing screwed my whole headlight system up, I ended up throwing it in the trash.
I have the chiltons and haynes manual, I'm sure between the two we'll find a good diagram. I gotta get my youngin to open house at school, but I'll pull the books out and send you the wiring diagram.
