I was driving done the highway about 70 mph when my CEL came on the car sputtered then stalled out. I pulled to the side of the road put it in park turn the key off waited a minute then I turned the car back on and it started back up with no CEL. I drove to the nearest auto part store and had the codes pulled, but nothing came up. So I left there and as I was driving down the road the CEL came on again and it stalled. This time it would not start again for about five minutes. I waited until it started back up and tried to drive again. This time I only made it about 500 yards and it stalled out again and would not start back up for about an hour. So I had it towed to the Kia Dealership and the next day they called and said they could find nothing wrong. They said they had hooked it up to the computer and there wasn't any prior codes on there. So two days later I drove it home from the dealership and around town a total of about 20 miles and it drove fine. What could this be?

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or once a year to ensure the fuel system is running 100%. Auto Zone will have the fuel filter and can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools. If it's the fuel pump failure, you have not gotten the car restarted. check the filter! first! it is possible its stopped up! when taking the filter lose start at the rear line and check to see how much pressure comes out? if its little to no! pressure then the fuel pump is weak!

As a first course of action, please remove the positive battery connector. Let it sit for at least 30mins. then reconnect it. Start the car and observe how it goes. If it still fails, I suspect that there's a problem with the PCM (power train control module). If the PCM is faulty, the vehicle's current supply fails. If that's the case, the PCM must be replaced to resolve the problem.
