P0068, P0171, and P0446 and new ones down below

The check engine light came on while this car was under warranty, the dealer fixed whatever parts necessary twice. Then the third time they couldn't figure out why it was coming on and said it wasn't an issue. This was in 2008 and 2009. In 2012 I failed an emission test in Idaho with codes P0068, P0446, and P0171. I had a waiver and now it's time to get it tested again and the codes I received are the same three as above plus P0507, and P0116. Seriously, was this stuff the dealership didn't fix when it was under warranty? Can I fix these myself? How hard is it?

-I hate to say that but absolutely NO. If you don't know much about car. All these codes are emission code.
P0068 Mean Throttle position sensor.
P0171 Mean system too lean.
P0446 Mean evaporator emission control system has not correct flow
P0507 Mean Idle air control is too hight.
P0116 Mean engine coolant temperature.

Need to have a mechanic to check one by one to determine which part is effect before replace it.

Good luck

Testimonial: "Thanks you and I appreciate your response but you listed what the codes are and I know what each one is in regards to their name. I have a friend who used to be a mechanic but that doesn't answer my question if it's cheaper to get parts for each code or do I have to take it in? Clearly the dealership couldn't even fix it the first two times when they said they did so I would like more possible options other than taking it back in, if it can be done itself."

SOURCE: Engine Light on got 3 codes

Fix the leak at the emissions system first. There is a small leak that the PCU detected. That could be the cause of the P0116 problem. Also the PCU detected a lean gas mixture because it is getting more air to the fuel system than gasoline. Start with the leak , then the Engine temperature sensor. I think that fixing the lek will "fix' the othe 2 problems. but it could be either one or all of them.

SOURCE: My friends 2006 Kia Spectra's check engine light

You'll need to have the car scanned and get the OBD II P Code. Most auto parts store will do it for free. That will tell you why the light is on.

Where does the fresh air snorkel connect to the valve cover on a 2006 Pontiac torrent? Check engine light is on (P0171 code)?

I believe the one your describing goes from the air inlet tube assy. , up and over the throttle body and goes to the top of the valve cover, under the ignition module (firewall side). If you already paid the dealer to fix this, take it back under warranty,

2007 dodge durango p0123 and p0068

Code P0123-THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT HIGH and code P0068-MANIFOLD PRESSURE/THROTTLE POSITION CORRELATION. Without having the vehicle to properly test, and based on the information I have it sounds like your throttle position sensor has kicked the bucket. Replacing the sensor with a new one should solve your problem.

1997 isuzu rodeo 3.2v6 trouble code p0446

Here is the description for the code. The vent system would need to be checked out to find the actual problem. It should have been fixed under factory warranty.
The P0446 codes triggered when an improper voltage signal is sent to Engine Control Module (ECM) through EVAP canister vent control valve.
Possible causes - -
- Missing Fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- Vent control valve harness is open or shorted
- Vent control valve circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty vent control valve

Hi. I recently bought a OBDII scanner because my 1998 toyota camry has a check engine light turned on. I got six codes, scary. P0171, P0446, P1130, P1133, P0171 pending, P0446 again. what do all this codes...

there should have been a code book with the OBDII. If not take the codes to a garage near you and ask them, they might give you your answers. If not, I will bookmark this page and see if I can find my book and get back to you. RT
