How do I reset engine oil change monitor - where is the reset switch/button located? Check engine dash light is on and I have 7000+ miles on the oil/filter. I am guessing this is the problem?
At 7000 you should definetly change oil, but depending on the make and model of your vehicle, to shut off of the check engine light will vary from a simple procedure in your owners manual, to having a obd 2 code detecter hooked up to identifie and delete codes

There were 2 directions that I found. Here they are:
With the engine off, turn the ignition switch to "On" without starting the engine.
Within a 10 second interval, push the accelerator pedal all the way down slowly three times within 10 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to the "LOC" position.
Second one is:
Step 1
Turn the key in your ignition to "ACC." Do not start the engine.
Step 2
Press the "Step" button. This button is located on the instrument panel under the display that tells you how many miles until the car needs to have the oil changed again.
Step 3
Press the "Reset" button until the display shows "3000 Miles to Service."
Turn the key to the "OFF" position and remove it from the ignition. The oil monitoring system has been reset.
Hope this solves your issue.

Oil Life Monitor Resetting (KD, KE)
Description
The engine oil life monitor will indicate when to change the engine oil and the engine oil filter - usually between 5 000 km (3,000 miles) and 12 500 km (7,500 miles) since the last oil change. Under severe conditions, the CHANGE OIL message may be displayed before 5 000 km (3,000 miles). The vehicle must not be driven more than 12 500 km (7,500 miles) or 12 months without an oil change.
The engine oil life monitor will not detect dust in the oil. If the vehicle is driven in a dusty area, be sure to change the oil every 5 000 km (3,000 miles) or sooner if the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message is displayed.
