SOURCE: 02 Blazer wont Start, Passlock?

I had the same problem when I replaced my multiswitch. I set off the "passlock 2" system that my blazer was equipped with because I didn't disconnect the battery before I took out the bad switch and put in a new one. That ended up blowing a fuse labeled "TBC." Its located in the fuse box in the engine compartment. Its a 10 amp. I know you said you checked all the fuses, but I would double check that one.

A more likely problem is the Passlock II sensor in the ignition key cylinder. I have a 2002 Malibu that had the same problem; it was fixed when I replaced this sensor.

SOURCE: 1996 chevy cavalier. problems starting and running

Actually i doubt the switch is in default here. Especially that if i'm not mistaken the theft light on those was only on the monsoon radio systems and only tells the status of the theft lock on the radio. And if the theft lock light on the radio comes on it's because it thinks it's being unplugged. Taking that in account and reading all the problem you have with the car, i'm strongly leaning toward a grounding problem. So check the negative post on the battery to be sure its not moving or broken in any way, and verify all the grounding wire and straps and replace them if needed. Not many people know this but the ground wires on a car are 100 times more important than the positive wires. Without the grounds, the current has nowhere to go on any components, so that means even the spark plugs stop sparking. If all the grounds are good, just check the battery itself and the alternator just to be sure they are not causing these problems. And if all else fails, then it would be option to change the ignition switch/cylinder. Pretty sure though that you can find one in a scrap yard for less than 150$, those cavaliers are practically raining everywhere in the scrap yards, and you can also use one from a pontiac sunfire which is the same car. Also, you can use most switches from other GMs in the same years, like a grand am, grand prix, lumina, etc. Just make sure that the car you take it from has basically the same equipment more or less than your cavalier so that the zenith has the same number of wires as yours and same positions also.

SOURCE: How to remove the car stereo from 2007 Chevy Colorado

This is not hard but tricky because the trim plate around the radio has clips that hold the trim plate very tight.Use a plastic type flat tool or flat screw driver wraped with tape or a shop rag to avoid damage to the plastic trim and pry the trim panel around the radio loose. remove all elec connectors. Then remove the screws that hold the radio in place and remove all elec connectors.

How to replace a power steering pump on a 1998 dodge caravan

    Hi there:
Check this REMOVAL & INSTALLATION procedure...

CAUTIONThe Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system must be disarmed before working around the air bag or SIR wiring. Failure to do so may cause accidental deployment of the air bag, resulting in unnecessary SIR system repairs and/or personal injury.
    1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable from the battery.
    2. In order to disarm the air bag system, allow the SIR system capacitor to discharge for at least 2 minutes, before performing any removal procedures.
    3. Remove the screws that secure the parking brake release handle to the instrument panel.
    4. Remove the screws that secure the bottom of the lower steering column cover to the instrument panel.
    5. Disengage the retaining clip that holds the right side of the lower steering column cover to the instrument panel.
    6. Remove the lower steering column cover from the vehicle.
    7. Remove the mounting screws that hold the upper and lower steering column shrouds and remove the lower steering column shroud.
    8. Install the ignition key and turn the key cylinder to the RUN position. This is important because it will not only aid in removal of the ignition lock, but will also place the socket (in the lock cylinder housing) in proper alignment for the installation of the replacement ignition lock.
    9. Press in the lock cylinder retaining tab and remove the key cylinder (ignition lock).

    To install:
    1. Install the ignition key into the replacement ignition lock key cylinder. Turn the key to the RUN position. Depress the ignition lock key cylinder retaining tab.
    2. Align the shaft at the end of the ignition lock cylinder with the socket in the end of the ignition lock cylinder housing.

    1. Align the ignition lock cylinder with the grooves in the lock cylinder housing. Push the ignition lock cylinder into the housing until the retaining tab sticks through the opening in the lock cylinder housing.
    2. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and remove the key.
    3. Install the lower steering column shroud and install the mounting screws.
    4. Place the lower steering column cover into correct position on the lower instrument panel and engage the clip that secures the right side of the cover to the instrument panel.
    5. Install the lower steering column mounting screws.
    6. Install the mounting screws that hold the parking brake release handle to the instrument panel.
    7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.
