The first thing u must do it test it for ignition in the failing condition to see if it is ignition or fuel problem. Simply take a spark plug with you and when it fails,Take a plug wire off and slip it on ur plug resting it against the engine to see if it fires when cranked. if it doesn't suspect crankshaft sensor.
If it turns out to be fuel problem, suspect fuel pump first if it is electric in tank. Hope this helps

I know that early 90's Honda's had problems and in fact a recall on the distributor. Might want to replace the distributor. Inside of the distributor is a part called the igniter which is the ignition module and that is what normally goes out. I cannot remember if you have to replace the whole distributor to get the igniter or if you can just replace the igniter itself. Has been a few years since I have worked on one. hope this helps but if not please contact me. I'm not sure about the drive light flashing thing though, new one on me.

pull one of the plugs out leave the plug wire on it and rest it on something metal on the car and have someone try to turn it over.if no spark can be seen try changing your crankshaft sensor

My daughter's 1991 Honda Accord did the same thing. I discovered that the main relay had to be replaced. Apparently the solder used in the original main relay was poor and would actually "soften" in the heat and cause a disconnection. When the cabin temperature dropped, the solder would cool and reconnect. Anyway, replacing the main relay worked. My daughter's car has not had this problem since.

MAKE YOU HEAR FUEL PUMP RUNNING WHEN TURN ON IGNITION KEY. IF NOT CHECK FUSE AND RELAY.IF YOU HEAR PUMP RUNNING. CHECK FUEL PRESSURE.IT SHOULD 36 TO 40 PSI.IF NOT REPLACE FUEL FILTER.IF FUEL PRESSURE IS STILL LOW FUEL PUMP IS BAD.
