Make sure you have a good earth, no earth, no go. Just about any point on the metal car body or chassis will be good. Next use a circuit tester(it is just like a screw driver with a bulb and and wire running through it, it lights up if you have a powered circuit. They are cheap and simple a great test tool, cheaper than a multimeter.). Turn your ignition key to Acc., earth tool, probe wire, if light in tool lights, your wire is good for power tied to ignition. You can always run your power direct to the battery, but for a couple of reasons this is not advisable.

Lastly, check that speakers are wired correctly, your speakers have a + and - points that match the same speaker wires coming from the player.

The extra wires can be possibly for auto aerial, lights or whatever, if the player works without them, don't sweat it, just tape them up so they can't short out.

Have sony cd player and wires in my 94 ford tarus dnt match up 2 my sony cd player

GO to your local Walmart store and in the Car stereo dept. You will be looking for a factory to aftermarket wiring adapter FD02B made by Scosche. c7d9e5d.jpg

This will plug into the factory plugs and then have lead wires of the same or similar colors and a wiring schematic to use.
It can also be found online at www.scosche.com/products/productID/226
If you are missing the factory wiring plugs you can also order these online, Walmart doesn't usually carry the factory wiring harness.
Great company and line of products.
Thanks for your question, Dorrian

My boyfriend is trying to install a cd player in my '94 cougar and there's this big grey wire thats taped up with the smaller colored wires. he dicided to cut the little plug thng off of the grey wire and...

Generally, the way I put an aftermarket cd-player in, is to use a new 'harness adapter' that connects to the old harness and has all of the wires color coded and labeled for easy installation of a new radio using wire nuts. I wouldn't try to cut into the existing harness, without knowing what was what.

What's the 'little plug thing' off of the grey wire?

2003 nissan frontier dash lights quit working. could it be the dimmer switch? all fuses were good.

In my 94 maxima this problem was solved by replacing a relay - but my gauges didn't work either.

You probably have a loose connection - jiggle the wires, unplug then plug in wiring harness. Start underneath the dash because it is the easiest, then you may have to remove the instrument cluster (this sounds tough but should only take 10 minutes - just need to remove some screws).

Putting cd player in 94 explorer?? HELP PLEASE?!?!?!?

Yes, that would be fine, make sure you solder the wires and tape well or use shrink tube on the connections.

Cant find the number 6 spark plug on a 2002 Nissan frontier

follow the spark plug wire to the plug. Its on the passenger side, near the firewall (back left of the engine compartment). You'll need a ratchet extension to get in there as its set back a bit
