2003 Saturn L300 odometer reads 694 thousand some odd miles and won't change...I know the car only has around 34,000 miles. I need to get the correct number to display so I can trade my car in

not really able to trouble shoot this .. uhh you may need a new instrument panel.. this is something that a dealer will have to look at as it is illegal to mess with yourself.. But if it were me.. i would hook up an aftermarket odometer.. something you can take out.. and your engine will never gain any miles :) :) odometer would be just so you know the actual mileage.. ever go to sell it.. LOW MILES :)
please email me at [email protected] if you have any more questions.
and please accept solution so i can get credit for it :) thank you
if your check eng light is on have it checked out lot of times it will not be a major repair just a faulty solenoid witch is a lot less to replace than a overhaul good luck
check owners manuel there is a procedure to reset it. if you don't have manuel try turning the ignition on and pressing the gas pedal down twice then turn off key and turn it back on again
the bcm, body control module counts the miles and sends it to the ipc Cluster so if its not counting miles the bcm is bad, common issue takes it oto dealer $400 ish
there is no way to know for sure without some troubleshooting and since your engine light is lit which im assuming is the check engine light you can have someone with an obd scanner pull the codes and go from there that is pretty much your only option at this point
okay, for one,the odometer doesnt read in miles per hr,it reads miles driven, and two i have no idea if its possible to change the odometer to km traveled,if you're talking about the speedometer, its already there, get a european cluster :p
