A few weeks ago my car was having trouble starting right away. I would have to try and crank it a few time before it would start. Low and behold, I was driving and the car broke down a mile from home. We took the alternator, and battery into the auto parts store had it tested (they both failed), so we replaced and installed the new ones. Car will not start still. We took the starter out and took that too into the auto parts store. It passed still car will not start. We have checked the battery cables for corrosion cleaned and replaced the connectors. What else can be the problem?
Is the car engine turning/ swinging when the key is turned. If the engine is cranking then look at the distributor and the spark plugs and engine timing also it is worth a look at the fuel pump and supply to the injectors there should be a valve similar to the wheel valve on the injector bank press the valve with key on you should see fuel spurt out under pressure as the pump will be keeping the injectors under pressure . If the car is not cranking then look at the starter.
