Try putting the shifter in N and move the pressure off the wheel.

I have a 2000 SL1 Saturn and when I put the key in it will not turn. Is this the key mechanism or what???

Try turning the steering wheel to the lock position, in either direction, while you try to turn the key. This is a common issue. There is torque from the steering wheel column that is binding the lock cylinder.

Cannot get the key in ingition, do not know how to turn off the passlock

Passlock is tricky. There is no way to just turn it off. It is an antitheft system, if you could turn it off, so could a potential theif. I do know of a way to bypass it tho. Check out this link. Alot of info, and some DO IT YOURSELF solutions

My saturn won't start, yesterday my brother replaced a fuse. Today I went to srart it and it won't turn over just like before what should I do

When you say it won't turn over, do you mean when you turn the key, nothing at all happens? Are you sure the battery isn't dead?

2000 saturn sl1 - No power to car with key in or out. Put jumper cables on and not even the interior light came on. Fusible link maybe?

First check your positive battery cable. I have seen, especially on the Saturn, where the positive cable gets corroded through the cable and will not allow any power through it. Also check all fuses in the fuse box under the hood, especially the large green 30 amp fuses. If that does not help then check the fusible link between the starter and the alternator. I have seem some of those fail, but usually the car still had power.

Saturn LS1 with key not turning in ignition Dec 15 08 cylinder replaced, new keys made at a Saturn dealer to be exact to original now have the same problem all over again-I can't turn the key to start my...

I would have the cylinder replaced with one that has a key with it instead of having them match the cylinder to a key. I think it would create less places for error.

98 saturn sl1 won't start

If the problem occurs after the car has been driven long enough to reach normal operating temperature, the problem is the starter. If the 'no crank' occurs cold, retest the battery.

2000 Saturn SL2 - replaced ignition then BCM failed. Related?

the problem is not the bcm. the passlock security sensor is in the cylinder and housing, if the cyl and or housing was replaced the system must be relearned. if you replace the bcm you still need to relearn the system or it still will not start.

98 saturn sl1 won't start

if you have good battery voltage at this time, and when you banged on the starter and then the car cranked over, it would appear you have a defective starter. i would imagine if you replaced it in july of last year that it could still be under some sort of warranty, so i would look into that. either way, it sounds as if you need a new starter.
