It's the switch.
Put your fingers into the leather shifter boot at the base and feel under the rim to pop the outside ring that holds the faux wood trim at the base of the boot up and out. (The piece is faux wood on an LS2, it may just be colored plastic on an LS1) You may need to do this twice, on each side of the boot, so that the entire piece of trim and the boot pops up and out. The leather boot should still be connected to the trim, it will pop out as a unit.
Once it is out, you can reach into the housing and feel the window switch unit from inside the housing. There is a spring clip on the upper and lower ends of the switch unit, press in the spring clip and pop it up one end at a time. The unit is now out but still attached to the power. I have never unclipped the wire harness but it looks easily doable.
IF YOU ARE REMOVING THIS BECAUSE THE SWITCH IS STICKY you probably DON'T need a new switch - you can spray some contact cleaner in the ports at the side of the unit and underneath the switch, this will probably fix your problem, at least if you have ever spilled a soda anywhere near the switch.

i just got a four speaker upgrade with alpine type rs. the front doors are 6.5 inches and the rear are about 5 1/4 inches and are a huge pain to get out, mine had to be cut out. be careful if u are going to get component speakers because the door tweeter are super small and hide the screw for the door panel and u will probably have to cut a new hole some where to fit them in. since these saturns arent known for their sound quality, i suggest that you either do rear deck speakers, like im about to do, or get cheap new speakers for your doors and a subwoofer or two. my car has almost no bass even with the alpine type rs. i hope this can help you out

the alternator has a circuit in it that illuminates the battery light on the dash.that circuit is most likely at fault but because the battery went dead once i would think your alternator is just about at the end of it's useful life.
SOURCE: Windsheild wiper park position in Saturn 2000 LS1
I had the same problem in my LW200. As the other poster indicated a new wiper motor will do the trick. This is an easy fix. Remove the wiper arms, pry up the plastic center cap and remove the nuts holding the arms down then pull them off. A soft prying nudge from underneath will help as they are splined shafts. Raise the hood, put a large deep well socket on over the splined shafts and remove the 2 large nuts holding the trim panel on. Pull up and off the long rubber which runs along the front of the trim panel, watch there is a sharp edge underneath. Now you can gently pull off the trim panel, remembering to lift it over the splined shafts. Mechanism is right there, remove 3 screws and unplug wiring. Take wiper motor off the linkage swap with a new one at advance auto, about 100 bucks, reinstall in reverse order. Note there is a stamping on the linkage telling you where the pivot arm should be for the rest or stopped position and if you ignore that your wipers will be out of whack. While you are in there you may want to change the cabin air filter as well.
