I have a 2003 dodge neon, with 95,500 miles on it. The past few days I am getting a clunking noise while driving over even the slightest of bumps on the road. My car is also creaking when I turn and while going over bumps. The noises seem to be coming from the drivers side front end. Any ideas what this could be and how much it would cost to fix?
It sounds like the struts as l had the same problem with my 95 Neon and also a 2000 Grand Prix - the bearings seem to go in the tops of them and start making noise or creeking sounds
It could be the strut, or the lower control arm - ball joint.
Price would depend on your local labor rates among other things.
It sounds as though you have a c/v joint going out on your Neon. If you intend to repair it yourself, the replacement part is around $40-$50.

Mine was a clunking sound on small bump on the road, Dealer found the problem after the second visit, it was a default in the electrical power steering. it has to change the steering column.

HI, i would inspect the strut assembly for loose structure asap. i would also inspect the wheel knuckle and rotor and tie rod ends for loose fit as well. inspect thoroughly.
Its most likely the CV-joint assembly. the boot may have slipped off, allowing the joint assembly to dry up. i advise to inspect all the above before looking at the CV-half joint assembly and boot.

That noise sounds to me like a Ball Joint problem. I would check to see if you have fittings to grease the front suspention.
Good luck, Allen
