I have a no start problem on my mercury mountaineer. It will turn over and almost start but wont I have changed the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. Tested the fuel pressure' spark' and checked the fuel pump to see if it was kicking on and it all seems to be fine. I have sprayed starter fluid in the intake and it won't start. Where do I go from here?

have you checked all ofyour fuses? usually when you hook up a battery backwads you end up blowing a fuse and or fry your alternator on older modeled vehicles as there is no protection for it.

the crankshaft position sensor will cut the spark if faulty suggest this is replaced

you need to have it connected to an OBD2 machine and watch if you are missing the cam sensor showing RPMs
or if your missing crank sensors RPMs,
it could be a wiring problem or computer if your seeing the RPMs from both sensors, and the last thing i would check is hooking up a fuel gauge to the reed valve and watch what fuel pressure you have while cranking,if the cam sensor is the culprit it will turn the fuel off after the cranking.
