Over the last 20 years ... cars have has a LIMITED OPERATION FEATURE added... When the engine READS something that is not IMMEDIATELY catastrophic... it will allow you to
LIMP home... rather than a complete shut down.

Limp mode:
You SHOULD also have a CHECK ENGINE light... (?)

My best advice is to limp on down to your near-by FREE code reading shop... and have a READER tell you what CODES are registered...

A blocked exhaust system will also seriously SLOW your progress

Run diagnostics on it to see what it is.Just because it is new or newer does not mean there could be no fault!

HAVE YOU CHANGED OIL REGULARLY?WHAT ENGINE?4.7L:YOU MAY HAVE A STICKY LIFTER OR A TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER ISSUE..I WOULD CHANGE THE OIL AND FILTER AND PUT SOME ADDITIVE IN ENGINE(LUCAS SEEMS TO WORK)
5.7L:LIFTER OR SOME PISTON SLAP..LET ME KNOW WHAT ENGINE IS IN VEHICLE AND SOME MORE INFO WOULD BE GOOD

2005 dodge caravan po404 and po405 , changed egr valve an had only po405. now listen heres the punch line disconnect the battery and touch the cables together to drain the capacitors for 30 secs.reconnect an BAM po405 is gone if it dont work ill give you your money back.

the code is P0344.
Camshaft Position Sensor `A` Circuit Intermittent (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)
I Got this sensor at Autozone for $ 25,99.
