My warning chime goes off at random.

When the chime goes off I don't show any warning lights on the dash board. Sometimes I can drive a few miles without it going off. Sometimes I can drive a very short distance and it will chime several times. I wonder if it can be the CTM. I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota. Any suggestions?

I have a 2005 sonata - There is a pin on the inside of the driver's side door - covered with a black piece of rubber - We built up a layer of 2 to 4 pieces of duct tape on the swinging door to hold the pin tigher - every now and then you need to replace the duct tape -and just to everyone else - it was ringing with the seat belt on while driving sometimes - for hours!! I took it to the dealer and they had only a temporary solution - the bell will still ring when you leave the keys in the car by accident and if you don't put your seat belt on! Marsha

Check all your seat belt attachments! This seem to be a leading oroblem with all vehicles that has a few miles on them. All it takes is wasting coffie or soda's into one of those locking mechanisms and it thinks the seat belt is not locked. All these vehicles have seat sensors too! If you sat anything more than 3 to 5 lbs on the seat, it thinks someone is sitting on the seat and the chime will continually go off and drive you nuts. Hope this helps you with your problem Sir

check your fluids and bleed the brake system , if that is all the issues your having . if low on fluid and keeps draining out then you have whats known as a caliper seal broken and that means $30-50 bucks for a new one/rebuilt , i know i drove mine like that for a bit and had to replace the driver side.

I have the same problem with my 95 Toyota T100. My O/D off light started flashing when my speedometer cable broke this week-end. I assume the electronic transmission is using the speed data to manage the overdrive.
Have your speedometer problem fixed and your flashing light will turn off.

SOURCE: 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan, the ABS light on the

It can be several things the ABS modulator, wheel sensors... I would bring it to the dealer and have them diagnose it, they will then retrieve the Abs DTC that your car is giving and pinpoint the problem, this will probably be cheaper than guessing and hoping replacing things will fix the problem!

I suggest you try one of those instant download manuals. My nephew bought one for me when my car broke and we could fix it all by ourselves with the manual costing $10. This website reliable-store.com is very good for this.

2000 Ford Ranger 2WD 299K-miles. As I am driving, an alarm will start going off. The truck is still running. No check engine light on. What is this alarm, and how do I disable?

When you go to start the vehicle and you turn the key on but not to the start position, all the dash warning lights come on, are they all coming on? IT is very unusual to have a warning chime with no light. I am wondering if a bulb is out in the dash. Or you can go to a store like orielly and have them check the obd codes for free. This will tell you if there is a code stored in the computer showing an error.

2005 jeep wrangler when i turn lights on beeping starts

did you RTM read the operators guide yet,
it tells you why all beeps beep and what lamps flash, (warning) and why. did you?
you turn on, the head lights, (what about 1st click , parking lights"?)
and does the dash cluster, show warnings of any kind?

if a door is ajar the system will think, you are exiting veh. with lights on and tell you, buy beeping ,etc.
but on my jeep it says on the dash DOOR, or on EVICs, (not yours)
the newer car even tells what door IS AJAR.
mine on shows , "DOOR"
the operator guide will say, check all doors for ajar, and get warning clear before driving....etc.

if you lost the guide here it is for free

Check to see if you have a water level indicator in the top of the radiator . A small plastic fitting with 1 wire from it. IF so it works when there is no water around it and will activate an alarm to warn you of lost water in the cooling system. The problem here is that the radiator cap will allow heated water out to the reservoir but on cooling down insufficient water is drawn back in to keep the top tank completely full. So there is a space that will allow water to miss the unit (cornering-stopping-hills up or down) momenterially and hence the unit chimes intermittently. Check if the top tank is completely full when cool.

Sounds like a bad door switch on one of the four doors. The switches have multiple contacts to serve both the dome light and the alarm system. The actual switch button is under a rubber boot with ribbed sides. The switches themselves are under the interior trim behind the doors.
