The security light keeps flashing and the car will not start. The check charging system light is on, but everything else is fine (lights, radio, sound). It's done this before and eventually started after 10 -20 minutes, but it has been over 4 hours and it still hasn't started.
The check charging light should be on if the engine is not running.
The most common cause is a bad chip in the key. Have you tried a spare key ?

Remove the lugs at the battery. Clean the posts and the lugs - then reconnect. Your battery won't charge (and the jumpers won't work) largely because of a film on the + post and lug. If you live in a hot summer area, (Arizona) the problem is especially troublesome.

You could check the Inertia switch and see if the fuel pump is cut off.
If that is Okay I would disconnect the battery and see if the system reboots.
If it starts after that, go to Autozone or Oreillys for a free scan.
If it does not start, then try putting in the security code if you have a keypad. If no keypad, then try your other carkey, your ID chip may have died.
