2000 blazer runs rough after gas tank was overfilled

2000 chevy trail balzer gas tank was over filled check engine light came on and now the car runs rough at times. what can be done to repair the problem

    when filling the tank the nozzle was pulled back to fill the tank because the nozzle kept shutting off..... the blazer started running rough rite away and the check engine light came after a few miles down the road.... I did go to auto zone to have it checked ....the codes they came up with had to do with the evaporater system ..... which could be several different things.... it is the correct gas cap and it is on tight... it is running better but it seems to run rough when its under a load almost like its hesitating... was running great until this happened ...... THANKS

    What do you mean you over filled it with gas? Do you have the gas cap on tight?

There is a vapour purge line from the tank to a charcoal cannister. The line& cannister has been contaminated with liquid gas. When the engine attempts a normal purge from cannister it gets loaded with raw gas, causing rough running and cherck engine light. Replace cannister. Never over fill gas tank, especially on hot sunny days

You have an engine misfire , raw fuel is going through the engine an out the exhaust . This will destroy your catalytic converter if not fixed . Is the check engine light on ? Do you know how to trouble shoot a misfire ? videos on you turtube showing how !

My 2000 blazer will not allow me to pump gas into the tank without just barely easing it in or it kicks the gas pump off or over flows,as if the tank is full. It takes forever to put gas in the tank.any...
how long has the check engine light been on?

The vent solenoid is likely stuck closed. If you look under the vehicle you will find the charcoal canister back by the gas tank. There will be a large rubber/plastic hose coming out of the canister. On the other end will be the vent solenoid. Should be up under the spare tire area.

Disconnect the hose from the vent solenoid and then try to fill the gas tank. If there are no problems filling with the hose disconnected replace the vent solenoid.

2000 CHEVY S-10 FULL TANK OF GAS ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AT HALF TANK LIGHT GOES OUT WHY?
You may be overfilling the tank. The fuel tank is connected to a vapor recovery system. If you over fill it it will be drawn into the recovery system and kick the engine light on. By the time you have run a half a tank of fuel thru it, it has cleared. Try stopping the fuel fill when the nozzle kicks off and not trying to get that extra 2 dollars worth in it and see if the helps.

Evap system vapor pressure I keep getting this when the check engine light comes on does any body have any suggetion? 2000 Chevy Blazer 4.3L vortec 4x4
Start with the simple and replace the gas cap, and see if the check engine light goes out after a day or so. Post me back the DTC codes just to make sure it's not the EVAP purge valve on the intake manifold by the ignition coil.

The light didnt come one because you filled it =while it was running, its on because you overfilled it. You pushed gasoline passed the rollover valve, into the charcoal canister which is probably now saturated. It may push raw fuel into the intake, which will make the engine run rough. Chances are, you need a new charcoal canister, ORVR, corrugated hose, and Purge valve
